Kentucky city commissioner: ‘I feel like going Taliban’ on Occupy protesters

occupykrause_ff
Angered by the emergence of the Occupy protesters nationwide, a Kentucky politician expressed his desire on his Facebook page Sunday afternoon for them to be physically removed.
According to Cincinnati.com, Covington, Kentucky city commissioner Steve Frank (R) was unusually honest about his disgust for Occupy Wall Street and the similar protests around the country.
“Turn out the lights on the Occupiers, I feel like going Taliban on them!!!” he wrote in a Facebook post.
When asked to explain his comments, Frank further elaborated his harsh sentiments.
Frank elaborated: ”The Taliban, as they see it is resisting occupation. I am resisting the Occupiers and very proud to be a 1%’er. I figured that the irony would be lost on most of the dummies in Occupation Nation who oppose the war in Afganistan because they see us as occupiers. I happen to oppose the war too but for highly different grounds. PS I am proud of our troops and have a son in harm’s way.”
Ooccupy protests have sprung up in at least 72 cities across America, and over a thousand cities across the world. The demonstrations are being held to raise awareness of income inequality, the rising costs of living and the lack of accountability by anyone on Wall Street for America’s sagging economy.

Say ... Is this the same Covington City Commissioner Steve Frank arrested in July for DUI, and who told a court that stop signs don't apply to him?

Maybe with a little less boozahol, Commissioner Frank would feel a little less Taliban. . . .

  • The essential problem of our time is that if the economic consequences we are experiencing were reserved for the foolish and the greedy, most would shrug their shoulders and say just deserts. The problem is that there was so much foolishness and greed, much underwritten by government policy (meaning by us collectively) that the problems have cascaded down on those who were doing what they should have prudently done; get an education, buy a house, raise a family, save for retirement. Of course people are angry and its not exactly fair. So what? Tell me of a time when it ever was exactly fair. Young people get sick or die in wars, theives get away with it, fill in the blank with your special crimes.... Making noise and crying solves nothing. I'm sorry. Also do not expect me to take an assault on my industry, with the many good people in it lying down. If you want to change the world, start by improving your own situation the best you can with the tools you have.
