QUOTE: The Coexist campaign, while valiant in effort and message, doesn't seem to be getting through to deeply bigoted zealots. I often hear bigots saying they don't agree with "the gay lifestyle choice" when trying not to sound like their bigotry is anything but the shameful hatred that it truly is. They confuse sexual acts, culture and behaviors born out of necessity to escape persecution with sexual identity. To that I say, Homosexuality isn't a lifestyle choice and to label it as such is just ignorant and petty. It's so much more than that. It's a valid, natural identity no less deserving of respect than heterosexuality. Bigotry, however, IS a shameful "lifestyle choice". One that too often hides behind cherry picked, outmoded religious dogma.
