you can buy bales of alphalpha at the feed store; that's what those silly pellets r made of. Even Purina horse pellets work with rabbits.
When I raised rabbits, I asked the produce managers at local groceries for bruised, wilted and damaged produce they were going to discard.
I've raised: rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese, quail, pheasant, guinea pigs, turtles and tortoises on free produce for decades!
